Security: Reloading images

For security reasons, images that are loaded via an href HTML attribute are normally not displayed, i.e., blocked in emails. When selectively importing emails via the Connector, a prompt appears asking how the blocked references should be handled. If the import is done via the job, then external references are retained, but are only displayed as dummy images.

In the mailbox and in the email master form, such images and other resources that are to be reloaded are first displayed as dummy images in the email. You can reload them by means of the security button.

The button for reloading is offered not only in the mailbox, but also in the email master and detail forms, allowing you to download the images afterwards (e.g., when browsing a project).

When replying, forwarding etc., the image references are adopted.

Info

Admin: The PSA_IMP_EMA_DWL_IMG variable can be used to control this feature.
DMY_BLB:=<blob> GUI:=<Y|N|Q> JOB:=<Y|N>

  • The dummy blob and the behavior during client-side and server-side synchronization can be set.
  • With the value GUI, blobs are always or never downloaded, or the user is always prompted.
  • With the value JOB, the option with the prompt is omitted.

Example: DMY_BLB:=PSA_ICO_IMG_DMY_016 GUI:=Q JOB:=Y

Emails with an encrypted attachment (smime.p7m)

So-called smime.p7m attachments are handled similarly to embedded images. If the detail form displays the email, then the attachment is loaded from the groupware and unpacked. The name and type of the documents and images contained in the attachment are immediately visible.
