To create hierarchical organization units, open the record of the superordinate organization unit first (external company) and enter another organization unit in the Additional data/Contact relations tab, section "to subordinated/subordinated units (structure)". The company records you want to structure should already be present.
Managing corporate structures
- Select the Sales/Contacts/Companies menu.
- Search for the records concerned.
- Switch to the Additional data subform, Contact relations tab.
- In the "to subordinated/subordinated units (structure)" section, select Select subordinated unit.
- Repeat this procedure for other organization units of the same level.
You can always see the hierarchical organization in the form of every contact under Contact relations.

Note: The structure relation is also displayed in the title bar (form) of the subordinate company as a hyperlink.
Deleting companies from the structure relation
This procedure deletes only the relation of the company in the structure, not the company itself.
- Select the Sales / Contacts / Companies menu.
- Search for the records concerned.
- Switch to the Additional data subform, Contact relations tab.
- In the … (structure) section, select Select subordinated unit.
- Mark the entry to be deleted in the list to the right and click Remove.
Deleting companies with structures
This procedure lets you delete companies with structures as master data.
- Select the Sales/Contacts/Companies menu.
- Search for the records concerned. Alternatively, you can open the desired company record directly using a hyperlink from the structure relation of the main company (Contact relations).
- Select the standard Delete command.
If you answer YES, all subordinate companies will be deleted as well! Persons are preserved as contacts.
With NO, the structure information of the subordinate companies is dissolved upwards. If subordinate companies lose the relation with their directly superordinate organizational unit (the mother company is deleted), these companies are always shifted to the top level. You lose all superordinate levels, but not your own subordinate structures.
If you want to integrate these companies into a structure again, you can reassign them.
