On operating systems without Desktop Integration Manager (DIM), e.g. MacOS, documents from the web client can also be edited platform-independently in the browser-based MS 356 apps and stored in OneĀDrive. This enables document sharing and collaborative editing outside of the CRM system.
MS 365 integration
Document editing without Desktop Integration Manager (DIM)
Limitations when working without DIM
The usual DIM workflow of automatically checking in a document when closing it in the Office application is not available in an MS 365 environment. Documents must be checked in manually from the cloud area by means of a user action.
Checking documents in to or out from the file system from operating systems without the DIM opens an upload dialog or, respectively, starts the file download.
- Creating serial letters from the CRM is not supported, because this feature (data transfer) requires a connection with MS Word via the DIM.
- Editing Windward templates is not supported.
- Editing article text modules cannot be automated.
