You can use a filter anytime to perform a complex search without having to store the filter. However, if you want to reuse it, you can save the filter with a meaningful name or description.
- Open the mask in which you want to search for data (form or list). If you want to filter only data of a tab, activate it.
- Select the no filter entry (or use "clear") in the filter selection.
- Open the filter form using the pulldown at the funnel icon.
- Click the Field... button to open the field selector.
- Select the desired search field and click OK (double click the field).
- In the edit area below the list with search conditions, the field appears with the corresponding type-specific entries.
- Select the relevant attributes and enter your search term here.
- Click the green check mark next to the search entry to move the search condition to the list above it.
- You will see and can check the resulting search entry in the list and can edit it again.
- Repeat the steps 4 to 8 if you want to enter search conditions for other fields. In the Field selection, all items that already contain a search entry are displayed in blue color.
- If you want to combine several search terms in the list with AND or OR, simply click in the corresponding line on the attribute in the and/or column.
- If you want to bracket multiple search conditions in the list, simply click in the corresponding line on the attribute in the "open bracket" ( column, or, respectively, "closed bracket" ).
- Execute the Count or Query function. The search result is displayed immediately in the original form while the filter mask remains open. Using the navigation buttons of the filter mask, you can now browse the search results.
