Inheritance of access authorizations

Inheritance of access authorizations in connection with cases

The access concept of JustRelate CRM supports the inheritance of parent object access (to a project or case) to child objects (activities etc.). Thus, global access control can start from the parent project or case.

In addition, the access concept is extended by the fact that in the process definition the access to parent objects can be defined depending on the status. Along with this, there is a role concept that allows you to control access authorizations for cases in relation to statuses or activities.

For subordinate objects (activities), access to them can be extended, so that persons not involved in a case can still be granted access to activities of the case when the inherited access to the case is overwritten.

Approving case access for owner access

To prevent unexpected loss of access, owner access is integrated into the access inheritance for activities and documents in cases.

If documents and activities inherit owner access when they are assigned to contacts or cases, only the owner of the target object may have access to the assigned object. Therefore, the owner is resolved in the source object (the access "D" is extended to "D, Dxxx"), and now both owners inherit the access permission.
