Tips on handling cases

In the course of processing a case, you can create activities as well as various contact relationships and follow-up cases, which need to be processed as a whole. Finally, you will generate quotation documents for your customers and prospects.

Assigning contacts

  1. Open a sales record and switch to the Contacts tab.
  2. Click the Select contacts button. The selection dialog for contacts opens.
  3. Create relations to selected records.
  4. In the list, assign a Project role to the contact.
  5. Check whether entries such as Reports to or Influence on are important for the contact relation.
  6. Save the record.

Assigning competitors

  1. Open a sales record and switch to the Additional data subform.
  2. Switch to the Competitor tab.
  3. Click the Select competitor button. The selection dialog for contacts opens. All external contacts can be found here. There is no preset competitor.
  4. If required, in the selection dialog, search for the Competitors entry in the Group field using the Quickfinder.
  5. Assign the contact that is a potential competitor.
  6. You can enter Strengths, Weaknesses, and a percentage rating. The selection menus of the Strengths and Weaknesses fields not only offer the given options, but individual additions can be provided.
  7. Save the record.

Assigning follow-up cases

You can assign follow-up records to a sales case, which are then only assigned to this specific record as the source, and not to its source, if it exists.

  1. Open a sales record.
  2. Switch to the Additional data subform.
  3. Switch to the Trace back tab.
  4. Click the Select projects button. A selection dialog opens.
  5. Create relations to selected records.

If you delete a source record later, only the assignment to the source and follow-up records is removed. Direct follow-up records will lose their superordinate levels, but not their subordinate structures.

Note: On the Trace back tab of sales, service and marketing cases, you can select a source project directly by the creator of the transferred case, regardless of its predecessor.
