Structuring documents in folders

Document folders offer a way to represent document structures in a similar way to a file system, i.e., to use folders as structure elements for grouping documents by their content. The representation of document structures is thus extended from parent and child documents to master elements.

The document folder feature lets you build and maintain extensive folder structures. All document tabs have this feature available for creating and displaying folder structures.

  • Creation of folder structures directly from document sublists.
  • Clear display of the folder structures in document sublists (tree and list representation).
  • As a default, folders with content are displayed as a yellow folder icon, empty folders are gray. The icon color changes at runtime.
  • End users can easily change folder structures of customers, processes, etc. (reorganize via drag-and-drop as in Windows Explorer, including multiple selection and extended drop functionality).
  • Quick and easy document editing directly on the contact or process without having to switch to the document master.
