Deleting a document record

Note: A document can be deleted if it is no longer used in an activity, a contact, a case, a product or in a structured document (as a subdocument). If you try to delete one of these assignments or a docĀument in such an assignment, a corresponding message is displayed.

If the document is to be deleted as a master record nevertheless, the reference in the Use tab of the document form or in the Documents tab in other forms needs to be deleted first.

Structure

Subdocuments must therefore necessarily be available for a reference from the superordinate document and can only be deleted under special conditions. However, a parent document can be deleted regardless of the linked subdocuments because the reference to subdocuments is not effective anymore in this case.

Briefcases

References in a briefcase are relationships to the documents collected in it. If the last relationship to another object is deleted, the system always checked for a relationship to a briefcase. The document can only be deleted when the relationship to the folder is removed.

Deleting a file in the document record

You can delete a document from the record, but keep the record (meta data) for other documents. For example, you can delete a corrupt file without deleting the record.

  1. Open the record concerned.
  2. Click on the Delete file function.
Attention

Attention: Only confirm the prompt to delete if you are absolutely sure.
