Settings for LDAP usage

LDAP ("Lightweight Directory Access Protocol") is a network protocol for retrieving and modifying data from distributed directory services. It accesses object information in network directories and makes them available to the CRM cli­ent and server.

JustRelate CRM can provide access to a Windows active directory via LDAP if subsets of the directory should be used for storing and retrieving information about the company’s JustRelate CRM users (internal staff members). By means of the CRM LDAP monitor, all LDAP data is provided and synchronized with JustRelate CRM.

You can access the LDAP monitor through the Administration / Data exchange / LDAP-Monitor menu.

This table offers an intermediate buffer for the import of LDAP data. The LDAP data is Fetched into this table and Synchronized when required in the CRM user management. All or individual users can be synchro­nized. Modified user data from the LDAP directory is synchronized to the CRM, new users are added to the user administration.

You can specify the connection parameters for the Active Directory as well as parameters for operations during synchronization in the LDAP configuration.

The address of the Windows Active Directory, including access parameters.

Filter for the required data from the Active Directory. JustRelate CRM filters only according to the group of active users working with JustRelate CRM.

This defines what is synchronized during synchronization, e.g.:

• The users must be active in both systems (OPR_IDN=PSA_PRS_HOE_WRK).
• If the password is changed in LDAP (Active directory), the user should never­theless be able to use JustRelate CRM.
• If a user is locked or inactive in the CRM, this is taken into consideration during synchronization.
