Merging folders and documents

For a business opportunity and a quote, document folders of the same name are often planned in the process definition, e.g., drawings, customer documents etc. To not have several folders of the same name when transferring, for example, a busi­ness opportunity to a quote, these folders are automatically consolidated.

If there are documents (also inside a folder), the environment variable  PSA_PRO_DOC_COP_EQU_­MOD defines the criterion used to decide whether a copy of the document is made:

• GID - The document is copied if the GIDs differ.
• CONTENT - The document is copied if their content is different (determined by the MD5).
• NAME - The document is copied if they have different names.

Global documents don’t play a special role but are handled like all the other documents. While transfer­ring, the documents from the process are taken over first. Afterwards, it is checked for the documents from the source process whether they should be taken over.
