Creating technical specifications

A technical specification is only created after a sales case has become a quote. The technical specification consists of the list of articles and services contained in a quote or order (scope of supply). It can be created as a list in a Short form, but it can also be displayed in a Long form, including descriptions and details from the product database. The short form is created as a PDF document, the long one as a Word docuĀment.

For technical specifications, text modules must exist. If text modules have already been created in the scope of supply, they are automatically used. You can create individual technical specifications based on the available text modules (languages).

The technical specification can be saved as an individual document in the context of a quote, and be added to the business quotes for the customer.

  1. Open a quote or an order.
  2. Determine whether the product management has changed or updated the neutral product data of the scope of supply after the quote or order was created.
  3. If necessary, delete all text modules before you create them again.
  4. Create all text modules if necessary. Observe the messages in the message bar.
  5. Use the standard print command to start the report manager, choose the corresponding report, and press the Run button.
  6. Save the document for later use in the business quote.
