Importing and creating product and service classes

In the company, there are usually product classes that should be imported via a CSV import into the JustRelate CRM database. In the function bar of the Product classes form, you can find under Import functions like Technical attributes, Product variants and Master structure. These functions refer to the CSV file to be imported, and that contains the technical attributes of the product class, or the class-specific alternative specification.

  1. Select the Administration/Products/Services/Product/Service classes menu.
  2. Select Import from CSV file/Technical attributes from the function bar of the empty form to import a new product class. Then, select the respective CSV file to create the product class template.
  3. Select Import from CSV file/ Products variants from the function bar of the empty form to import the class-specific alternative specifications of the product class. Then, select the respective CSV file, and you will see the adjusted technical attributes in the Variants tab.
  4. The function Import from CSV file/master structure is available for building the product class structure. You can specify which class belongs to which subclass. When you select the corresponding CSV file, only a class structure template without any technical specifications is imported.

When importing alternative specifications, further product classes can be copied. If needed, you can thereby specify different values of a selection menu in the technical attributes. Using the Menu entries tab, you can specify at which position of the technical attributes you would like to insert a menu with the corresponding values.

Product configurator

You can replace product classes and service classes with specific positions and their characteristics. As an administrator, the Product/service classes form lets you work directly at the product development level. Users work at the production level, meaning that they can view product classes or replace them with predefined specifications in the case/product relation, provided that they are authorized to do so.

Deleting or creating product classes

In the management of the article classes, it is possible to create the existing forms again on the basis of the form templates. For this, the Replace form function is available in the function bar. It opens a selection dialog with the possible dialogs.

Attention

Attention: Product class dialogs selected here are created again after confirmation, and the existing dialogs are deleted irrevocably.

Broken product class dialogs can be removed beforehand using Delete product class.

Attribute display in variants list of product classes

With product classes, some fixed attributes as well as all attributes of the product class are dynamically displayed in the list of variants. This list is not suited to meet the various requirements concerning these lists (selectors for the Quickfinder, hyperlinks, restriction of the attributes).

For this reason, a dialog template can be specified via an environment variable, which serves to display all attributes of the template dialog. If no template exists, the previous generation of the tags is used.

The variable starts with the name of the product class DTO, and continues with the convention _ELM_SCI. The value of the variable is a dialog name. The tags of this dialog are copied to the Variants tab. Should the variable not exist for a product class, the previous standard is generated.
