Advanced functions

All important folder and document master attributes can be edited in the tree subform, i.e., without having to change to the document master administration.

Editing attempts are rejected, if

  • the user doesn’t have write access to the document,
  • the document status doesn’t allow changes (e.g., document released),
  • the document is global (global flag is set). The metadata of a global document can be edited only in the document master form.

Note: If a folder is selected, document-relevant attributes can also be edited and saved in the tree subform. A sort order deviating from the standard can be achieved by, for example, by specifying a number for the folder.

Attention

Attention: Although you are in the document tab of a specific contact or case, you are editing document master attributes. If the document is assigned to several contacts or customers, these changes are also visible there.

Further functions are available in the function bar, for example:

Derive document

This function supports in particular quick changes to case-specific documents, and is useful especially for cases.

An existing document can be used as a template for a new, independent document.
