Access to cockpit elements

When taking over a cockpit from an existing user, the system asks whether the target user should be granted any missing execution and access permissions.

  • In the standard, the elements are delivered with an access check.
  • The administrator can control access to the elements (entry of the user group in the Cockpit elements list). To determine the access group an access-ID belongs to, mark an element and select the Access function from the function bar.
  • Hyperlinks on charts and in the lists open the connected result lists. Here, detailed information can be accessed. Hyperlinks are only available if the user has access to the result lists.
  • The Drill-down search does not take access definitions into account.
Info

Admin: The project manager can switch off the access check via the user-specific variable PSA_CCP_USE_SQL (e.g. for controllers, department managers, etc.). This can significantly improve the performance.

If the access check is disabled, please note the following:

  1. Elements can be restricted with respect to their usage (only specific users can use the element in the cockpit). This can be done via the access function in the administrator list of cockpit elements.
  2. If data may be collected only for specific departments or employees, this can be realized through standard mechanisms (such as the view of subordinate employees in the Entry Portal).
