GDPR in marketing

Compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation can be a particular challenge for marketing. Personal data may only be used for marketing campaigns if there is a legal basis for doing so. To be on the legally safe side, many marketing departments only use personal data for which explicit consent has been obtained.

Checking the purpose of use

With JustRelate CRM, these consents can be documented in the purpose of use and used for all marketing processes or mailing lists. For this, there is the Check consent function in the sublist of external contacts (participants, members, etc.). It opens a modal dialog in which the purposes of use that you want to check are marked. Afterwards, a prompt appears for having all contacts “with consent” or all “without consent” or all contacts can displayed. The test result is also indicated via the font color. Green contacts have at least one valid purpose of use, red ones have none. Contacts that do not require a legal basis (companies) are shown in grey.

Check purpose of use in marketing actions

If the persons without a valid purpose of use are to be asked for consent first, you can create a serial email for the marked entries using the Generate consent email function. It automatically applies the template “E-mail Series: template HTML with GDPR Consent (German, BIRT)” [PSA_RPT_CPD_EML_SER_DPR_CNS].

Info

Admin: The PSA_DPR_RPT_EMA_SER environment variable lets you specify a different default template.

GDPR functions for activities

The GDPR functions are also available for serial emails, appointments and phone calls. They are defined in the corresponding participant lists.
