Takeover of the customer installation by after-sales service

The system automatically applies the delivery items of a finished sales order (status = Order closed, displayed in red in order lists) to the customer installation. This doesn’t cause the product structure in the sales order to be copied, but it is used from the sales and service view alike. The system automatically prevents the consistency of the sales structure from being destroyed by changes to the customer installation, e.g., by replacing a component. If there are several finished sales orders for a customer, the customer installation shows the delivery items of all orders.

  1. Open a customer contact to which finished sales orders are assigned.
  2. Under General, activate the subordinate Service/Objects tab. The function Open customer installation appears in the function bar. It is unimportant for this whether any service objects are already assigned to the customer or not.
  3. Open the customer installation form using this function. The installation tree shows the delivery items of the finished sales orders as the customer installation. You can navigate in the product structure.

Exploding delivery items with quantity attributes greater than 1

A customer installation contains single products installed at the customer's. For this reason, the delivery items containing a quantity > 1 in the sales order need to be exploded. For this, there is the Explode quantity  subdialog function in the function bar of the customer installation. It only makes sense to explode quantities with the "piece" quantity unit.

  • You will be asked for each service object, if the quantity should really be exploded.
  • The service object is copied quantity-1 times.
  • The "old" service object and the "new" ones receive the quantity 1.

In the customer installation, mark a product with a quantity > 1. Right next to the structure tree you will see the products that meet this requirement. Then run the Explode quantity function. Now, several products of the same kind are displayed in the installation tree depending on the quantity. The adherent product structures are copied.

Note: If you do not want to manage individual products but batches (e.g. 200 pumps) in the customer installation, you do not need to explode the delivery items.

Splitting a batch

  • The quantity to be split off is queried.
  • The service object is copied.
  • The new service object receives the specified quantity.
  • The quantity of the "old" service object is reduced by the specified quantity.
